VSP Graphic Group Partnership Featured in New DuPont™ Tedlar® Film Feature

In order to provide the best final product for our clients, we always ensure that our materials and partnerships are top tier. One of the most important aspects of vinyl graphic application is the quality of the film. DuPont™ anti-graffiti Tedlar® Films are designed to resist abrasion, scuffs and stains to preserve the aesthetics of a graphic application or label for years.

Just last week, DuPont Electronics & Imaging put out an article that briefly talked about their commitment to innovation with the launch of a new formulation for Clear DuPont™ Tedlar® film. This may not seem like much to the average consumer, but it’s a cherry on top. An improvement on an application that we’ve been working with for some time now. The new Tedlar® film is meant for both indoor and outdoor applications, but is created with one thing in mind, durability.

When you’re thinking about graphic signage application, if we’re working outdoors, we’ve got to consider UV protection. Even the best design won’t achieve your desired effect if its washed out from the sun. Chemical resistance is also important, when you’re thinking about potential grafiti, stickers, or other debris that could end up on the signage. DuPont™ Tedlar® film won’t be damaged by even the harshest of chemicals.

When you’re thinking about how this stuff applies to the indoor space, look no further than some of the work we did with The Martin Group and Kaleida Health! We used the cutting-edge anti-graffiti Tedlar® laminate on the walls of The John Oshei Children's Hospital in downtown Buffalo. DuPont™ was even nice enough to feature our Director of Sales & Marketing, Josh Szary who talked about the project and how Tedlar® fit the job perfectly…

“VSP Graphic Group collaborated with The Martin Group and Kaleida Health on a large 12 floor art installation to inspire children and their families,” said Josh Szary, Director of Sales and Marketing for VSP. “After careful consideration, it was the anti-graffiti, resistance to mold and mildew, satin finish and second-to-none durability of Tedlar® that made it the best option for a medical environment like this,” Szary added. “Children, families, the client and the designers are thrilled with the outcome.”

DuPont™ Tedlar® protective Films are great for ensuring designs are preserved, with color and brilliance. Even in the hottest, most humid environment, Tedlar® films won’t be affected by mildew. These are used for transfer, reverse or direct-printed applications with many different inks. Solvents won’t affect the life of the film, but can help removed unwanted inks and stains easily.

Tedlar® films can be used in transparent versions to shield UV rays, and also translucent and opaque pigmented films that resist fading, chalking or color shifts. For heavy-duty graphics, you can even print directly on white Tedlar® film and cover it with a clear layer of Tedlar® film. Here’s what Chris Marino, Global Marketing Leader for DuPont Advanced Materials had to say about the new formulation.

“Our new Clear DuPont™ Tedlar® film raises the bar for durability in real-world applications from building murals to traffic box wraps to business installations, as well as outdoor billboards and signage. We are constantly innovating and are excited to offer this new product that will save customers time and money on cleaning and maintenance, reduce costly replacements and provide a long-lasting dynamic impression for brands.”
